I bought the boogie board because it looked like a fun and inexpensive techie toy. It's use is limited by the lack of memory and connectivity.
I use it at home to make quick notes and to-do lists and at work to give brief
explanations to my college math students in 1-on-1 tutorial sessions.

It's advertised as appropriate for grade school classrooms. As a teacher, I believe that the larger individual white boards and colored markers would be more appropriate for elementary education math students. The first day I used the board I accidentally grabbed a pen to write on it. The marks came off with eye-glass cleaner.

I actually own the 8gb version of this pen, but, especially now that the prices has dropped dramatically, this is definitely a must-have item for any lover of all things geeky or nifty little gadgets. The battery lasts surprisingly long considering how small it is and the video quality is also exceptionally efficient given it's compactness and so forth. The instructions are very difficult to read, but I didn't need any. You just push the button (the ONLY button on the device) to turn it on and start recording. When the light is blue, the pen is recording. When its orange, the recording has been stopped. Press the button a third time to start recording again, or hold down the button for a few seconds to turn it off completely which drastically improves battery life. (When the light is off, the pen is off.)

All in all, its a really fun little gadget to play around with and would probably make a great gift - I know I would have loved to get one as a gift. The people who gave 1-star or 2-star reviews are either doing something wrong or received a defective one or something. But mine works great, even after having had mine and used it fairly regularly for a year or so. Get yours before the price goes back up to $130!

On Monday I misplaced my car key ....... again. My wife finally located it in a most unlikely place in the basement and by then I was already thirty minutes late for an appointment. The key must have fall out of my pocket when I removed something else. Right then I decided it was time to get some kind of locator gadget that would put an end to all this foolishness.

I spent the next couple days researching the available products (see note below), and finally boiled it down to two. One was the FOFA and the other the EZ-Find. After some deliberation I ordered the EZ-Find. My decision to order it was predicated on the following:

1. The tags for the EZ-Find are much smaller than any other. That's a big advantage if you've got a couple of them in your pocket.
2. Their web page provided more complete details including video instructions for programming the unit and an Acrobat Reader file of the owners manual.
3. The EZ-Find can be programmed to read out in alpha numeric characters, not just numbers. My car key is identified as, "Dons Car Key". After all, if I can not remember where my key is how in the heck am I going to remember what number is assigned to which item. I could make up a list of numbers and their respective items, but then I'd probably misplace the list.
4. With the FOFA, each tag can call any of the other five. If I had two of them in my pocket and one accidentally set off the other in Church or at the theater it would be pretty Embarrassing. The EZ-Find, on the other hand, has an on off switch on the tag.

After having received the kit, I found the following:

1. Very quick delivery. Just a couple days.
2. Easy to program. I had installed all tags and programmed in about fifteen minutes or so.
3. The tags are light as a feather and do not take up much pocket room.
4. The system works just as good as advertised.

I strongly recommend this product for anyone having a penchant, as I do, for losing their "stuff".

Note: Yes, I read the review by fellow who claimed to be an ear doctor and a skilled micro-surgeon did not yet possess the dexterity necessary to digitally insert a nickel-sized battery in an appropriately sized hole, could not see a back -lighted screen that is clearly visible to me and could not figure out that one button turned it on and the other two were the Up-Down keys for programming. It appears to me that he might have done better had he read the owners manual before blundering in. It was all in the manual. If nothing else, he could have watched the on-line video which explained it very clearly. Oh, and by the way, I'm a seventy four year old Retirees, I had no problems, how come a skilled micro-surgeon could not do it? Maybe he should be retired and I should take up micro-surgery.

Customer Review: Awsome metal detector

After researching all the other brands I choose this one because it had a nice digital easy to read display,not a complicated needle type. After a week of using it I bought another one for my wife. The only complaints I have is with the battery life of around 4 to 5 hours of use. I did have one instance when it started cutting on and off with certain movemints but after changing out the batteries I think it will be ok now, I hope. The rod joint isn't very steady but after wrapping electrical tape around the male part of the shaft it now feels pretty secure. I have found plenty of change and even my telephone lines at around a foot deep! Be very carefull digging in your yard!

I build computers as a hobby. Why pay for someone else to build one (one size fits does not fit all) when building your own is not too difficult and you can build with quality parts tailored to your own specific needs. Case in point, the WD 640GB HDD. Large hard drive prices are economical right now. Generally speaking, the larger the drive, the less the cost per gigabyte (GB). At Amazon's prices the WD 640GB drive was about $10 bucks more than the WD Caviar 16 320 GB drive with the same cache. Western Digital has recently color coded their drives: Black (high performance), Blue (mainstream) and Green (no brainer: ecologically friendly-for a hard drive). Where does marketing get these ideas? The Caviar 16 640GB falls into the Blue category. It is amazingly fast and quiet, thanks to its 16 MB cache and 3 Gb/s transfer rate. The technology is interesting in that WD utilized two 320GB platters which gives this drive an edge as compared to say 750 GB drives with similar cache size. The drive itself is nearly silent and the quietest HDD I have used. Its rated over 90MB/sec read and write speeds, which is very fast. Yes there are faster hard drives, but for the money this drive is an excellent choice.
My only complaint: the drive is warranted for 3 years not 5.
Amazon had the lowest price I found, and shipped the drive quickly. Turn around time from placing the order to delivery at my door step was four days. Stable, reliable and excellent price to performance ratio, this drive is a great choice for everyday computing needs.

I first saw this photo viewer in Parade magazine and I was excited about finally being able to share my digital photos in a slide show format. Problem was, I never saw it for sale anywhere. And then while researching gifts for my wife, I found it at a deep-discount website for less than a quarter of its original price. I ordered one for her birthday, and as soon as we got it hooked to the television and started looking at the pictures, we were thrilled. Even the pictures from my old Kodak DC 25 looked great on the television screen. The software is easy to figure out, and although it takes a little while to make the albums, it's more than worth it. I would recommend this item to anyone with a digital camera.

Customer Review: Quite nice, if you go in with your eyes open

At first I wasn't sure about the book, as it is a thinly veiled advertisement for Information Unlimited, and has many items you can only get from them to build the projects. But then I figured that is fine, because they *do* carry specialized parts for just this sort of project, and have for decades; this book just shows you what to do with those parts.

I've been a customer of InfoUnlimited for a long time anyway, and they do put out very cool stuff. So, if you are willing to do fabrication, electronic assembly/soldering, and troubleshooting, then this is an excellent book.

Yes, you probably need at least average intelligence to fathom this book, but then, would you really want a stupid person to have a cutting laser?

If you do have dreams of a secret lair where you can bring a doomsday machine to the world, then you will enjoy this book immensely, especially if you are actually handy. Even if you aren't, you can always put this on your bookshelf, and just make people wonder.

If you like books like this, then my suggestion is to look for titles that have "gadgets" in them to get actual plans for things.

As for what is in it...it is a mixed bag, and pretty wide in interests. There are certainly lasers, but also several projects for ultrasonics (simple up to weapon-like), and also several projects on reasonably potent power supplies; something that many books leave out. In addition, you have EMP generators, and fun tesla projects.

I'll note it again: If you try these projects and do not know what you are doing, or do something stupid while building these, you will die. Likely in a bug-zapper like fashion, or perhaps with a nicely cauterized hole burned through something important.

That aside, this is a nice collection of material you can find elsewhere, but it is all in one location, and with the actual part numbers for some of the more hard-to-find components, you won't have to guess or use somethign that "might" work, and risk the project (or you) burning up.

I got this book for my birthday, glancing through the pages it seemed full of exciting projects to build. My enthusiasm wore off once I started building the projects. Although most of the parts in the "Bill of Materials" are easy to obtain there are some _critical_ parts required for the completion of the project. The book contains vague descriptions of arcane parts that can only be obtained through the authors web site. Alas, overpriced in my opinion. A good book in my opinion wold list part numbers and various sources so the reader has a choice. I have found the cost "estimates" ridiculous, in a particular project just two of the "special" parts needed are more than the "estimate" for the full project. Not to mention that you can only get them through the authors website. In my opinion one of the reviewers that called this book "an infomercial" for the authors website was right on.

The flashing lights work well, but would be okay without lights. The base is stable, though very light, and hasn't moved. This will keep items from being damaged. Glad I bought it. I also have the flat yellow mats that are supposed to stop the car, but my wife kept missing them. This is better.

No, it's not red - it's green Okay, just about everyone has a red laser pointer. Heck, we even sell a fine one here at ThinkGeek. But, we're pretty sure you want to be a superior geek - and doing it with a green laser is the way to go. This pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times) than a red laser pointer and because of its unusual color it is much more noticeable. I mean come on, a 532 nm green laser wavelength is obviously superior to a laughable 650 nm red laser wavelength. And unlike a red laser, the green beam itself can be seen in mid-air in dark conditions, not just the laser beam dot. This allows the green laser pointer to be used for pointing to star constellations (skypointing) and also just generally look cool as hell. The green laser beam dot can be seen at much greater distances than with a red laser pointer. Customer Review: Unsafe and Defective

I put new batteries in the laser pointer when it arrived and it worked fine at first. However, I then set it down for a few minutes before picking it up again. I put it straight back down because the metal housing was too hot to touch. This happened in the course of about 2 minutes. I had to use a spare t-shirt to pick it up, unscrew the cap and tip the batteries out. I let the product sit for a few minutes to cool down and put it back in. A few days later the same thing happened.
I wanted to know why this was happening. It was only occasionally, but twice in three days was too common for something that could start a fire. What I noticed bothers me; this device works by passing its current through the outer metal housing! The cap to the batter compartment is just a plain piece of metal that pushes directly against the battery. Obviously the idea is that whenever the device isn't in use the circuit is open and no current passes (so no heat), and while in use energy is consumed by the laser so there isn't excess energy that needs to be burned off as heat. Somehow, perhaps shaking it the wrong way or setting it down too roughly, the device manages to short circuit itself creating a closed circuit without engaging the laser unit, causing it to become incredibly hot until the batteries run out. This unit is a fire hazard.
Also, the button is weak. Even before I ever pressed it, it rattled a lot just by toughing it. If you're in a job where you'll use this product on a frequent (daily) basis like me (I'm a teacher), I doubt the button will last you six months.
I'm disappointed and returning this. I'm just glad I hadn't put this in my briefcase when it decided to get hot.

I purchased this clock for my wife for Christmas who is artsy fartsy and loves different types of gadgets. I set the alarm and placed it next to her side of the bed once she fell asleep so it would wake her up Christmas morning. This clock has a very unique sounding alarm. It sounds like a robot is attacking you with beeps, chirps, etc. and is rather loud.

When the alarm went off Christmas morning, the clock jumped off the night stand and took off across the floor, my wife jumped out of bed, nearly hitting the ceiling and started screaming! The whole time, I was laughing so hard I was crying. After a few seconds, she realized it was CLOCKY and started chasing it around the bedroom trying to catch it and turn it off. She was so excited ONCE she figured out what was happening and what it was. She had wanted a CLOCKY for a long time!

This clock is GREAT! Very unique looking and sounding and is very fun! You will never hit snooze again with this clock, although you can set it so that it does not run away when the alarm goes off, but why would you take the fun out of it!!

It's true, my macbook now look dumb. Maybe this product should be called a "theft prevention" case, because your computer looks so cheap, no one will think it's worth the trouble of stealing! Ok, looks arn't everything.... The case doesn't fit well. The bottom is always slipping off, and the top, like some freaking nazi, just took over and I thought I was never going to be able to remove it! I had to get my husband to help me. Worst of all, the edge under my wrist is really sharp and irritating. My recommendation, pay a little more and get something good.

This mount is use to mount my Canon HF10 to the front windshield of my Jeep Rubicon so I can video tape my exploits on the trails. I have used it twice and so far the camera has stayed in place over some very rough terrain. The only think I would change would be a way to add a quick disconnect to allow me to remove and reinstall the camera quickly.

We just received our chrome clocky yesterday. We put the batteries in, made sure it worked, tested the functions, and placed it on a regular 1.5 ft bedroom nightstand over heavy carpeting. Next morning, it rang, snoozed, jumped on the carpet from 1.5 ft in the clear, and went totally dead. Checked the batteries; still nothing.

The Zadro is small and folds closed like a small flip cell phone. It can easily fit in a pocket or your purse.

The Zadro only has one button that you press and hold for about 10 seconds. The purple light will come on along with a Red LCD light to let you know that it's working.
All you need to do is simply hold the light over an object like a phone, toilet seat, keyboard, etc for 10 seconds and the unit is supposed to kill all of the germs.
Unfortuately, since I'm not a scientist, I really cannot tell if germs are being killed.

I had used cheaper, $30-40 (retail price) straighteners before, and never had much success with them. My hair is naturally straight, with slight waves in the back, and I was still having to go over the same strand of hair 3-4 times just to get it to straighten. I was completely unconvinced that straighteners worked very well, but decided to try the chi after reading all the positive reviews. I have had my chi for a little over a month now, and absolutely love it. It heats up very fast, and I only have to make one quick pass over each section of hair to get it straightened. My hair is silky smooth after using the chi, and I have not had any trouble with drying or frizzing. The chi has not once "tugged" on my hair during straightening. The swivel cord is wonderful--you aren't constantly fighting with a tangled cord. I also love the size of this chi. The 1" width makes it very easy to straighten even your bangs, and it's also very light-weight and easy to grip. Definitely recommend! It's the best hair product I've bought in several years.

Customer Review: A Great Introduction to Frank Tovey!

"Fad Gadget" ... allow yourself to taste those words for a moment. It shimmers with style. Likewise, these songs sound equally invigorating to the ears. Fans of edgy, intellegent bands like Depeche Mode, The The and Shriekback will find refuge in this music too.
Fad Gadget was more an individual and less a group. Frank Tovey captained this Goth pop experiment, which enlightened stereos and spawned imitators during the early half of the 1980s.
This collection basically samples his earlier work, before he dropped the "Fad Gadget" alias. Singles, B-sides, album cuts and a solo track make up the first disc while the second CD contains awesome remixes of signature tunes. Needless to say, these double Frisbees deliver the goods!
And I strongly recommend the four studio albums: Fireside Favorites, Incontinent, Under the Flag and Gag. Some of his most daring stuff is found only on them.
A massive Fad Gadget/Frank Tovey complication is in the works, which will include live performances, unreleased treasures and fan favorites and it will be on two DVDs and two CDs!
Anyways, I'm betting that Fad Gadget's status will remain the same, which is anonymity from the masses yet intense admiration from a select few. I doubt Frank would have wanted it any other way.

Customer Review: The thing barely works

I usually do my research before buying, and to do this I read the worst reviews. Had I done this in this case I never would have purchased the stuffer.
As many have said, the biggest problem is with the plunger which is not wide enough to fit the chute. Meat squishes up on the sides and sticks to it. The result is overworking & heating the meat which is bad. Unlike others, I had no problem getting the casings on or with them ripping.
I'm glad the stuffer tubes are only a cheap add-on for the grinder so there's not too much down the tubes. The grinder works fantastically.

After reading the other reviews I went ahead and purchased the stuffer, thinking "I only make sausage a little at a time, the size of it shouldn't effect me". Boy was I wrong! The design is really terrible. The top hole is so small that every time you push the meat in you can barely get the plunger out because there is such a strong suction. Also, you can only put the tiniest beat of meat at a time, or when you try to push it down it all just splatters to the side. All those things being said, it does beat doing it by hand.

In the interest of full disclosure -- I wrote the book. So I really can't give an objective review :)
I can say that the book is intended for folks who want to get going quickly creating Sidebar gadgets. Your skill-set doesn't need to go beyond familiarity with HTML or JavaScript to use this book. It was not targeted at hard-core web developers who can handle XMLHttpRequest objects in their sleep. It was written for the superuser who wants to make gadgets.
The Visual Blueprint series provides a series of self contained tasks in each book. Unlike some books that follow a linear set of lessons, this book is designed so that you can pick it up, flip to a page, and do whatever the task is. That format does lead to a bit of repetition in tasks. But overall it's a great way for superusers to jump right into developing gadgets for their desktop.

Customer Review: Very simple, not too useful

I am a long time programmer, and familiar with procedural languages and JavaScript. I've written Yahoo widgets thus I am familiar with the concepts, so how hard could the extra HTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, AJAX be?

Answer? Immensely, and this book does not help. There are a number of examples, one on every page. They are simplistic, not extendable, and frequently useless. There is no summary of extensions, commands, events (the usual stuff one needs in a reference) and no discussion worth a hoot of the g:Image, g:Background etc objects provided by Microsoft.
If you are not already an experienced web page programmer, DO NOT get this book as it is incomplete.
If you are a web page programmer, DO NOT get this book as it is too simplistic.
There is, unfortunately, not too much out there yet, but I don't think this will be the answer you seek.

I am very satisfied with this item. I like its great look (matches with my room decor), performance, accuracy of data and particularly instant (continuous) data transfer from the outdoor Swiss made precision sensor that came with the weather station. The forecast icon (Sunny, Cloudy and rainy) based on changing barometric pressure provides a good visual indication of expected weather. Along with above it has a good digital clock showing atomic time and date with provision for manual setting plus alarm function. I would highly recommend this item to others for home or office use.

I purchased this bag shortly after buying my Rebel XTi, and have been very pleased with it. When I first bought a digital SLR, I didn't realize how important a camera bag is. They are meant to hold everything you need, when you need it, so you can keep it safe and carry them around. The 2400 bag does just that, BUT only if you have a small quantity of equipment. I initially purchased this bag for my Canon 40D. For those who own one, they are quiet large in size. The picture that amazon shows doesn't really do justice unless you compare to a real size camera. I am only able to fit the body, 28-135mm lens (attached), including lens hood, and a speedlite flash inside. I am unable to carry anymore inside the main compartment. The rest of the compartments has the capacity to hold extra batteries, filters, and pamphlets just in case.
If you are serious about photography, you would want a bigger bag so you can carry more equipment. In general though, its a nice bag for those who don't use other lenses.
Also, the strap is not as long as you would expect. It barely allows you to carry on the shoulder, but it does.

Customer Review: Not Worth It

I own this weather station. PLease read the fine print. It is powered by 4 batteries and they are needed even if you use the provided ac adapter. The LED's are red and are NOT very bright or easily read from anywhere. The battery powered outdoor sensor also requires batteries. I am suspecting that this was designed by one of the battery manufacturers.
I was one of four family members that received this unit as a gift at Christmas. 3 out of 4 agree with me. The fourth hasn't used theirs.

This is a very handsome set on my countertop. The tools are very well-made and have exceptionally comfortable and sturdy handles. My favorites are the omelet turner and the ball whisk, which makes whipping up gravy on the stove a breeze. This is a very large cooking vessel. It has a very heavy bottom, and heats up quickly. I especially like the see thru glass lid. It allows me to check the food as it is steaming or as it is quick frying. There is plenty of room to move the food from the cooking area, then go on to the next batch of frying. The cooking area is very roomy.
This is not a non-stick pan. I found that out the hard way while frying some velveted pork at a high temperature. The breading tends to stick to the pan. Instead of washing the pan in the dishwasher, I now just wipe it out with a nylon scuffy and dry it. (I am trying to season the pan slowly as I use it.)
It looks very nice sitting on top of my cook stove; and it works very well with my ceramic cooking surface. It's a very nice piece that includes a utensil set, a stir fry utensil and a steaming shelf.

This is a great set of utensils. I love the bold color. The utensils work really well, just be cautious around heat - the handles tend to melt, even if just touching something warm for a minute. This, paired with a Pyrex baking dish, makes a really good starter set if you need a wedding gift.

Had this set for three years now. Spatula, peeler, whisk are great. Scoop is average. Grater doesn't get used because the Microplane ones are so much more effective. Can opener is the worst I've had - keeps slipping off the can. The $2 no name model is 10 times better. All hold up real well, which is good for the first four and not for the last two ;) I'd buy the good ones separately if you can get them on sale.

What an Amusing and Fun Book!
Thumbs up for Steve Greenberg! I just bought your book last night and it is hilarious!! My son and I went to dinner last night and while we were waiting for our order, we were going through the book. Well, we had a grand old time looking at all the kool inventions and laughing hysterically. At one point, it took my son a few minutes to actually tell me what he thought about one of the inventions because he was laughing so hard, and what a great idea it was. Thanks for bringing some amusement and some fun ideas into this rough world we now live in.

Book is Pretty Fun!
It is a great summary of the American Dream - making that one invention that will let you retire and live happily ever after. ALSO, it serves as a stark warning to prospective inventors about how **NOT** to bring a product to market. I almost feel sad reading page after page of people who have basements full of finished inventory, but no outlet to sell through.... then you turn the page to see another millionaire created from a simple idea! Buy this book, you'll get a chuckle, a tear, and maybe the inspiration to make your OWN invention.

Oxo SteeL Can Opener

Sturdy, Functional, and Sharp Looking
This can opener has been with us for about two years now and I can't say I have any complaints about it. The handles with rubber grips are substantial and sturdy. The can opening device (teeth?) has (have) not bent or given way to any cans. And, the knob has been made of durable plastic, so it hasn't chipped or flaked. We typically don't put this in the dishwasher, and I wouldn't really see the need to--hot soapy water works just fine. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to replace their can opener.

Better than electric!
I bought this after my electric can opener died. I bought it based on the great reviews I read on Amazon, and I couldn't agree more with them. It's so easy to turn that its actually faster than an electric opener. And its dishwasher safe. I love it!

Oxo Good Grips Apple Corer and Divider

Love it!
I love apples, but the hassle of the core and the juicy mess often made me pick other things to snack on (yes, I'm lazy). I love this corer. It's easy to use and clean.
The only reason I gave 4 stars, instead of 5, is because it doesn't finish the cut at the very bottom of the apple very well.

Not Bad; Not Perfect
Our experience with this corer/slicer has been the same as many reviewers here.

The initial trick with this device is aiming so that it actually slices through the core, rather than to one side. Since apples are seldom perfect, this sometimes requires a bit of cleverness. If the core is missed, then a small paring knife may be needed to remove seeds, etc, from some of the slices.

We have also noticed two other things noted by other reviewers:

1. The device doesn't always cut cleanly all the way through the bottom of the apple. This is probably a function of the cutting surface. Often it is necessary to pull the core and/or some of the segments through the device by hand. It is better to grip each segment and pull it through, rather than try to push on the skin at the bottom, which could lead to cut fingers.

2. The white outer ring on ours has cracked where one of the blade "spokes" meets the ring. So far this hasn't affected the unit's operation, but I am assuming that it will fail at that point some day.

The good news is that Oxo stands behind its products, and I expect that if and when this unit fails, Oxo will replace it.

All in all, a good choice for this purpose, even if not perfect. It's still much faster than manually cutting apple slices, and probably safer.

Parking Target Peel-and-Stick Parking Aid

Works pretty good - not perfect though
I've owned them for a couple years - only issue we've experienced is the stops moving. My wife sometimes turns the steering wheels before she backs out and that has caused the parking stops to get crooked. The adhesive works if you drive straight on or over them. But if you turn the wheel, they will too.

The end is crushed after a week of use.
I have an RDX which is not a terribly big SUV and the end of the parking aid is already crushed after only a week of use. It's made of cheap plastic but the one saving factor is it stays put and has really strong adhesive.

I have been using this for a few months. Works great. My only complaint is that there is no master "off" switch. Hence, if I try to cart it around in my backpack it often turns itself on and its battery wears out. I hope the manufacturer reads these comments and will create an updated version with a master switch.

I-Sight, I like!!
I always find it amusing that some folks seem to have difficulty with operating something rather simple. Much like the people shown in an advertisement having difficulty (on purpose) with a simple task and then shown with the 'solution' product that they are pitching.
We spend a lot of time RVing with a dog which requires spending time outdoors, many times in the dark. This little light is perfect since it frees up your hands to handle the doggy chores. But it also is enough light on a dark night to allow you to get around while seeing everywhere your head is pointed.
It feels awkward at first, until you get the hang of it. Put it on your ear, adjusting it and pushing it against your head, until it feels snug. Mine has yet to fall off or even come close to falling off.
I've used 'head lights' that strap around your head like a visor. And I've used other types of illuminating devices, but this is now my favorite.
If you are one of the voters in Broward county during the 2000 election who couldn't seem to vote, this is not for you. Everyone else - you'll love it!

I neglected to mention that it has allowed me to grill on our portable grill outside after dark when camping. Many times the light available is just not enough or non-existent. This light is more than adequate for the task and frees your hands to do everything. It's cool.........

Our original Salad Shooter finally wore out... they are handy gadgets, tho mostly we use them for just grating cheese. Unfortunately, even with the slightly new design, they are horribly noisy, and the little motor still has that 'new - is something burning' smell.....

Works Well, but Leaks Quite a Bit
This product works well, but it leaks quite a bit. It takes about 3 squirts of flavor for 12-16oz glass of water. The filters last 2-3 months, so I'd suggest buying the 6-pack Pur 3 Stage Faucet Mount Filter #RF-9999, 6-Pack.

The installation is fairly simple, but after having it a few months, it started to leak from where it attaches to the faucet and also from the bottom (where the split is). Perhaps some super glue and maybe a new gromit?

NOW, I am VERY disappointed in this can opener
We have owned this can opener for 3 years, and it USED to work like a charm. We specifically purchased it because we did not want any metal contaminates from the can in our food, particularly because we have a toddler. The issue is that for the past 4 months it has just gone bad. It's extremely hard to open can goods. It takes about 15 turns for it to semi open the can, and then it has to be pried open.

I don't believe I will ever own a different can opener than this one. It is so easy to use and doesn't take up valuable counter space. Get it, you won't be sorry.

I love this product! I have rhumatoid arthritis and fairly large hands so it is very comfortable and easy to use.

A Better Slicer
I had the plastic version of this for a number of years and really thought it was great -- until it broke. After seeing the stainless one on Amazon I figured that it would be a good investment in durability. I have found the stainless steel one to be much easier to use than the plastic version. The stainless blade cuts through the pineapple much better than the plastic blade did. This was good purchase and I plan to buy one as a gift also.
